A Wonderful Support System
Friday, March 6, 2009 at 1:00AM The mini real wedding for today showcases beautiful images by Janet Klinger Photography. The bride and groom, Kelsey and Gabe were married at A Country Location in Smokey Point, WA on August 31, 2008. Sheena Kalso, their fabulous wedding coordinator called the day a "meaningful celebration where friends and family came together to give Gabe & Kelsey a picture perfect wedding day. Kelsey used her love of photography in their decor and her friends who were past brides allowed her to borrow elements from their wedding. The result: a polished look, that didn't cost a fortune."
We asked Janet Klinger to fill us in on what went on behind the camera:
Q: What was so special about Kelsey and Gabe's wedding?
A: Kelsey wears her love for friends and family on her sleeve, and clearly the love is returned. I felt so connected to everyone, appreciating the deep meaning in each of the friends participating in hand-making programs, performing ceremony music including a recorded processional played on the piano by Gabe’s deceased Dad. Others hung decorations, created favors, and bartended. What made her a fabulous bride to work with? She is in touch with her emotions and has a self-confidence and awareness that made this event heart-felt for all lucky enough to be in attendance.

Q: Janet Klinger is a household name in the wedding industry, what do you feel brought you to the top all these years?
A: Luck cannot be understated. My third wedding, in 1991, was for an amazing, vocal and well connected couple. They still send referrals my way and continue working with me for family and event photography. Many more well connected, verbal clients followed. My job is to listen closely and suggest ideas, then follow through with designing concepts. Beyond the planning, I’m always looking for moments during each event, helped by well trained and intuitive staff who point me in a direction I might not be looking at the moment. Teamwork is critical, whether that relationship is simply between one client and myself, or our staff and an entire client family. Taking care of clients consistently helps to keep my name circulating from friend to friend, client to client.

Q: What advice can you give a bride who is searching for the perfect wedding photographer?
A: Don’t settle for less than having it all. There are so many photographers to choose from nationwide. If you bond with the photographer’s personality, love her work, AND feel confident the experience level allows problems to be solved without delay, this photographer is in the running. Beyond that, here are other strong suggestions: The primary photographer has an excellent design team for custom albums, offers products you’re interested in, has a long list of references and has a support staff to answer your numerous questions while the photographer is out of the studio.
